Skipped a few years of updates. Had some physical difficulties and failed hip replacement surgery that put a dent in my ability to stand in front of my easel. But I am back, and have posted a painting or two and am currently in another Art Show at the Womens Exchange in Memphis, TN which will end 8/26/19. Have been in three other shows this year and all paintings in the shows sold. So, it has been a slow but good year. Hope everyone who reads this is doing great and keeping their artistic eyes open wide!
2015...
The Women's Exchange Spring Art show and opening were terrific events once again. Wonderful comments were made about the pieces that Artist Guy had in this multi-artist show. Artist Guy's pieces were placed in what artists refer to as "prime real estate" during the opening and the entire run of the show. The opening party took place on one of the worst weather days in Memphis this year, but was still very well attended.
2014
Artist Guy has done it again... for the second consecutive year he has donated a painting to the Dixon Museum to be auctioned during a silent auction at Art On Fire - the annual gala event at The Dixon Gallery and Gardens on October 25, 2014. It is sure to be a big hit as it was last year. The funds raised during the event are used to provide children's art learning and appreciation skills classes and workshops. It is an honor to be asked to participate in this event and is a blessing to be able to assist in support the arts in the Memphis area.
Everyone is invited to Artist Guy's show and Opening Party on July 27th, 2914 at The Woman's Exchange, 33 Racine, Memphis, TN. The show will be hanging until the first week of September, 2014. *
*(Post event note - the show was a whopping success and the opening party was a ton of fun for everyone!)
Come on Sunday to meet Artist Guy in person... have a snack, and enjoy a wonderful visual experience while rubbing elbows with some of the most interesting people in the Memphis area!
The year 2015 included several art shows, all of which were well attended and enjoyable. Artwork sold well, and there were several requests for custom work including figure drawings and portraits. These works were requested to be kept private but were all well received by the persons requesting them. It was a fun and wonderful year, despite it being a rough year of questionable health.
